What is Notary Assistant?
Notary Assistant is notary software for India: a practice management system and digital notary register (sometimes called e-notary software) for notaries and notary firms. Notaries record each registration, capture the photo, fingerprint and signature of every party, draft or edit the document with optional AI help, and generate a notarization certificate. Anyone can check that certificate on a public verification page.
It replaces the paper register, stapled photocopies and hand-typed certificates with one searchable record per registration. The notary stays in control: Notary Assistant records and certifies the work, but it does not perform the notarization.

Each published registration gets a registration number. Anyone holding the certificate, whether a bank, a court clerk or the other party, can enter that number and the ID number of one of the parties at notary-assistant.com/verify to confirm the registration is genuine, without calling the notary’s office.

What is Notary Assistant?

The product launched in 2015 as a desktop application and has been cloud software since September 2025. Is Notary Assistant the same as other products with a similar name?
No. Notary Assistant (notary-assistant.com) is a separate product from Software Kraft Solutions in Pune, built for notaries in India. It is not affiliated with similarly named notary software or services outside India, including those in the United States.
Who is Notary Assistant for?
Notaries and notary firms in India. Offices with several operators can give each person their own sign-in. It is not an e-notary or online notarization service for the public to get documents notarized; clients deal with their notary as usual.
Does Notary Assistant perform the notarization?
No. Notary Assistant is a tool that helps the notary collect data and generate documents. The notarization itself, and the legal responsibility for it, rests with the notary public.
How are the photo, fingerprint and signature captured?
The photo is taken with a webcam in the browser. Fingerprints are captured with a compatible SecuGen fingerprint scanner connected to the notary’s computer, which needs the scanner’s driver and service installed. The signature is captured digitally. All three are saved with the registration.
Can a client or bank verify a certificate?
Yes. At notary-assistant.com/verify, enter the certificate’s registration number and the identification number of one of the parties. If both match a published registration, the page shows the certificate with personal details masked. Because both numbers are required, the public cannot browse records.
How much does Notary Assistant cost?
The core platform is ₹50 per registration, using prepaid credits. The optional Notary Assist AI add-on is ₹5 for each registration in which AI is used. Taxes are as applicable. Offices doing more than 150 registrations a month can get special pricing. Contact us to get your office set up.
How does Notary Assist AI work, and can I rely on it?
It drafts and edits documents from your instructions and the registered parties’ details, in English, Hindi or Marathi. AI can make mistakes, so it is a drafting aid and not legal advice: the notary reviews everything before publishing. Document text and party details are sent to our AI provider to generate the response, and AI is only switched on for offices that opt in.
Is my data secure, and where is it stored?
Data is hosted on AWS in Mumbai, India. Traffic uses HTTPS, and the database and stored files are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Each office’s records are isolated from other offices, the database is backed up daily with additional off-site copies twice a day, and sign-in runs through AWS Cognito.
Can I customise the certificate?
Certificates use a standard layout today, showing your office name and address with an optional footer of your own. Full layout customisation is planned.
Does it work with Hindi and Marathi names and documents?
Yes. Names, addresses and document text can be entered in Hindi and Marathi, and they appear on the certificate.
What do I need to use Notary Assistant?
A computer with a modern browser, a webcam and an internet connection. For fingerprint capture you also need a compatible SecuGen scanner, used on a Windows PC.
How do I get started?
